Justice Scales

Welcome

THE COMMON MAN has no reasonable expectation that he will receive a fair deal in any civil court, whether it is a lawsuit, a divorce, an unlawful detainer, or even where he is a creditor in a bankruptcy court. Lawyers know that John Q. Citizen cannot afford effective legal representation, and they are aware that the civil justice system is a sham. But they fail to disclose that to the consumer. They "lie" about their abilities to achieve justice.

The book, LAWYERS LIE, discusses how and why the civil justice system is in a crisis that has resulted in a disconnect between consumers and legal insiders, and how radical reforms are needed to avert a debacle where the common man comes to believe that his only remedy is to create his own justice.

The author, Eric D. Hart, has been an attorney in San Diego, California, since 1976 and has practiced in a wide variety of legal fields. He has also owned a private investigation business. His next book, Lawyers Lie...Yet Again, deals with the relationship between consumers and the criminal justice system.
